It is Happenin’ Again

Leora Sanford Now at CatScrap
We are so excited to have Leora join our CatScrap family. We know you will love her like we do. A little about Miss Leora…
“As far back as I can remember, I have been putting to use my interest in creating. When I was a senior in high school, I was chosen to design a brochure for a job program that we were implementing into our school. Using nothing but clipart and Corel, I managed to create the likes of one that was good enough to pass out at a local job fair. That one job sparked an interest in designing and when I entered college, I had hit a fork in the road…I could pursue this newly developed interest or stick the plan of becoming an elementary school teacher. I chose to be a teacher…at the time it was more practical. I never did give up on my using my creative abilities. When I took up scrapbooking in 2001, I saw it as a creative outlet while being able to document the memories of my family. When the digital era really began to emerge, it was a natural transition for me to go with. I taught myself how to use Photoshop and it wasn’t long before I wanted to try my hand at designing. I still have so much more to learn but I’m enjoying the process every day. I still teach 5th/6th grade and I’ve been designing for nearly 4 years now and still love the entire process. I’ve got the best of both worlds.”

Introducing the NEW CatScrap Designers…
Allison - “I am a 30 year old Oregonian that’s been designing in some form or another my entire adult life. After leaving my professional life as Art Director of a print and embroidery shop a little over a year ago I decided to venture out and see if my designs were of interest to anyone else. When I’m not designing I busy myself with my hairdressing fiance, our four kids, and our small glass-working company.”
Christine - “Hi! My name is Christine aka CheekyMonkey. I started designing about a year ago, and I am very excited to be joining the CatScrap team! I am a mother to a two year old girl, and a two month old boy, and a golden retriever. I am very lucky to be married to a wonderful man who supports me in my scrapping and photography endeavors (I vow to get myself off of auto this year!). My camera has grown bigger, but the moments I capture continue to be small, fleeting and priceless- that’s the reason I love to scrap. It’s also why I love to design- I want to help others preserve their memories in a beautiful way.”
Juliana - “My name is Juliana, I’m Brazilian, 23 years old. I started scrapbooking in 2007, as a designer and scrapper. When I started as a designer, I worked with two friends and formed Boutique Cute Dolls. But this 2010 year, I decided to be an individual designer creating products in my name — Ju Kneipp Designs. I work as a Graphic Designer by day and as a scrap designer by night. I have a beautiful family, live with my parents and my brother, who loves to scrap, too! I’m so happy, I’ve been very blessed by God, and I’m very grateful!”
Micheline - “My name is Micheline. I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mommy to 2 precious kiddo’s. Mystaya is 6, and Logan is 5. I currently work at home (I run my own private daycare in my home) and have been designing for almost 5 years now. In my spare time I like to read, watch movies, design, and spend quality time with my family. I live in Canada *or the fridgid north to most of you* and my first language is French; my second is English. I’m very excited to be a member of the CatScrap team and look forward to getting to know each one on the team!!”

Our May Guest Designer
We are honored to introduce the fabulous, talented, and gorgeous Roben-Marie of Roben-Marie Designs as our May Guest Designer.
Roben-Marie is a little kooky in her ways and clearly OCD in others. She eats oatmeal for breakfast every morning, is addicted to Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, does not like wearing shoes, is a loyal friend, would rather give than receive, is afraid of heights, is an introvert who works hard to be an extrovert, her favorite color is green, she has been married for over 20 years, she digs football, can converse on many subjects, is a God’s girl and a computer geek.
Her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, she is a college graduate, likes to read historical fiction, used to work in public relations, lifts weights, embraces a variety of music genres, once rode a camel, believes in individualism and personal responsibility and makes amazing made-from-scratch brownies, so she is told!.
She likes to laugh but sometimes takes things too seriously, she is into a bunch of craft and art forms, including mixed media, art journaling, sewing, digi designing and more and one day would like to say that “making things for others” is her job!

CatScrap is looking to add a few new designers to our team of unique designers.
Do you think you are what we’re looking for?
REQUIREMENTS & DETAILS
* Top-notch, highest quality, unique designs
* Active community and forum participation to promote CatScrap
* Active participation in CatScrap design team and guest collaborations
* Work with an incredible team of designers and creative team members
* Various exclusive/non-exclusive commission options
* Easily manage own shop on X-cart platform
* Flexible creative schedule
To be considered, applications must include:
* A self-introductory bio including your design history answering the following questions:
* When did you start designing?
* What stores do/did you currently/previously sell at?
* Why do you want to be a CatScrap designer?
* (3) product previews of your most recent designs
* Samples of your designs to include at least (5) papers and (10) elements or similar
All submissions are due by Friday, April 23, 2010.
