Happy new year – and a freebie!
Here at CatScrap we want to wish all our customers and readers a Happy New Year! We hope 2008 will be a creative year for each and everyone of you! Thank you so much for all your support and feedback through 2007. We hope that this little freebie will be useful when you scrap the snaps you will take tonight.
Again: Happy New Year og takk for det gamle!
Follow us into the new year, because we have some exciting news very soon!

Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Holiday, and that you all have the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones. The Christmas Holidays means so much to all of us who celebrate Christmas. We see the joy in our childrens eyes, we feel the love from our family around us and we cherish our friends. Christmas to me is to be with my husband and my kids, to cherish each and every moment we have together.
It´s a bit quiet here at CatScrap during the Christmas Holidays, but it will soon be some very exiting things happening. There will come a new designer to our shop, and I can promise you that she is making some gorgeous products!! Her kits have so many unique elements and the papers are so beautiful.
I have made a sneak peek to her newest kit, with just some of the elements and two of the papers. Can you guess who it is? Make a guess here in our blog! (You can only guess one name). If more than one have the right answer, I will write the names on a piece of paper and make my oldest son pick one of the names. The winner will get a gift card on $10 to our shop!

You will find this kit, and all her other kits in our shop soon!
I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
Don´t forget to take LOTS of pictures.

**10 Questions**
Hello Everyone,
After a little break I am back with another **10 Questions** Challenge. You get to ask me 10 questions (one per person please) to find out what the page I did this month looks like. For everyone who is new to this, here is how it works: I did a Layout that I am not going to post -yet. But I will answer your Questions and give you hints you can collect to put together a page that should look like mine. Basically lifting me without having seen my page. You can upload your Layouts to the Catscrap Gallery (using lots of Catscrap Goodies of course) with **10 Questions** in the Title by Friday. 21st. My page will go up Saturday, 22nd and I will pick the page that looks the most like mine. It is not important to pick the same colors -it’s about the Design.
Here is one hint:
Question: Is it an 8.5×11 page or a 12×12 page?
answer: It’s a 12×12 page
Now it’s your turn – after I’ve answered 10 Questions (that’s one per person) you can start scrapping
. Just click on “Comments†and ask away.
You do not have to ask a question to participate in this challenge – just collect the hints, do your page and post it.
Here we go with your questions:
Sabrina asked: How many Photos are in your layout?
My answer: There is one picture in my layout and it’s placed horizontal.
Katrine asked: Do you have any Doodles? If so, where are they placed?
My answer: I used Doodles that are placed ON paper elements. One of them is tucked behind the left side of my picture , the other is rather small in the bottom left corner of my page.
Birgit asked: How did you frame your photo – if you did?
My answer: I used a paper frame with just a small border (hint: it’s by Catrine
)
Miss Lavanillee asked: How many papers are in the Layout?
My answer: I used three different kind of solid paper (Background paper and another one are both square, the third is rectangle
) and one piece of notebook paper – NO patterned paper on this page.
Angie Rice asked: Â Where is your picture located on the paper?
My answer: My picture is almost in the middle of my page, towards the right side (hint: it’s on top of the rectangle solid paper
)
Jeannie asked: How many Accessories (Embellishments) are on your page?
My answer: I used 2 Photo Turns, 5 single stitches, 3 Snowflakes, 1 Paper Doodle, 1 other Embellishment, 2 Flowers, 1 Bookplate, 1 Star and 1 Tree, 6 straight Stitches, various Star/Sparkle Overlays and 1 Tab
Syrin asked: Do you have a title with an alpha?
My answer: No – I used a font to write a title and the same font for my Date – but there is no Title alpha
Little my asked: If there is any journaling, where is it placed on the Layout?
My answer: There is one sentence of journaling, it’s placed on the left side of my picture, underneath the rectangle strip of solid paper.
Katrine asked: Is anything on the page blended?
My answer: No – there isn’t
That was it. No more questions, please. You’ve got until Friday, 21st to finish and post your page based on my answers to the Catscrap Gallery. I will post my page Saturday, 22nd and pick a winner.
Can’t wait to see what you do

Some news, some freebies, and a challenge
Hi
Hope you are having a wonderful day, and that you are enjoying these days before Christmas. I am a bit stressed, I have not baked anything yet, the house is not cleaned, and I have to write the Christmas cards…but I did buy four presents yesterday, so I have started.
So, what´s going on here at CatScrap?
We have new members in our team! Take a look here:

Our three fabulous guests in our creative team are: Edeline, Kristin and May Hege. They are staying on our team in December and January. As always when we have guests, we have some questions for them, and you can read their answers here.
I just love their layouts, here are some of them:

We have just had a challenge, to make a desktop. And the winner was Tress, with her very creative and cool desktop. You can download her desktop here if you like, so you can use it on your own computer. Just add your own photos, and you have your own fancy desktop! (The resolution is: 1440 x 900). Thank you, Tress.
Here you can see the desktop, the one on top is the one Tress made to the challenge.

I have a little freebie for you too. It is a solid paper. In my new paper pack “Explore Solids {earth}”, one of the papers has a transparent blue circle. One of my customers would like that paper without that blue circle, so I have this paper as a freebie for you.
You can download the paper here

Be inspired – challenge
Ellen (sprellen) has a challenge this week in our Scandinavian forum. She wants us to be inspired by Angelbq, one of our members in the creative team. Angie is an incredibly talented scrapper, with a fantastic eye for details. Her shadows are extraordinary, all her layouts are looking so real.
You are free to find your way to be inspired by her layouts in this challenge. By her cool freestyle layouts, by the colors, the shadows, the three dimensional look or her gorgeous photos. Or maybe a little of everything?
You can find Angies gallery here.
Here are some of Ellens favourits from Angies gallery:

If you are inspired by Angie, we would love it if you upload your layout to the Scandinavian gallery at CatScrap. You are allowed to post with English descriptions.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Layout challenge
We have a new challenge up in our Scandinavian forum and you are all invited to join in.
This time we would like to see a layout where you frame your photo(s) without using frames. Use elements, papers, doodles, type, etc, just remember no frames allowed. Not even a tiny stroke around the photo.
The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to the shop, so if that sounds tempting, please upload your layout to the Scandinavian gallery found here within sunday December 9th. Feel free to write in English in the description area.
Take a look at these layouts by MirandaM for some great inspiration:

Tato, one of the moderators in our Scandinavian forum has posted an ad challenge that I would like to show you here in the blog. It should be lots of fun to have a go at this one! I love the layering of frames!

When Tato used the ad as inspiration, she came up with this fabulous layout of her son. He’s saying “Here I come!” :

If you are inspired by this we would love it if you upload your layout to the Scandinavian gallery at CatScrap. You are allowed to post with english descriptions
