—–> SEARCH (new challenge)

Happy Monday, everyone!
I don’t know about you but I have giving up on trying to organize my digital stash. I’ve recently invented a whole new way (for me) to scrap: I open my folder and do a search. That’s what gave me the idea to this challenge.

Of course I tried this on some of our fabulous Creative Team ladies. I asked them to open their “CatScrap” folder and do a search for these words:

“gray”
“clip”
“doodle”
“frame”
“tie”
“leaf”

I asked them do a page using only products that came up for this search – nothing else.
Which doesn’t mean that they couldn’t use more than one gray thing, more doodles, and so on. (and of course they could use a photo or two and some journaling :) )

Here is what they came up with:

**10 questions challenge**

Hi everyone!

Eva here with the 10 questions challenge this month, with a chance for you to win a $10 GC to the store. You get to ask me 10 questions (one per person please) to find out what the page I did this time looks like.

For everyone who is new to this, here is how it works:

I did a layout that I am not going to post – yet. But I will answer your questions and give you hints you can collect to put together a page that should look like mine. Basically lifting me without having seen my page. You can upload your layouts to the 10 questions category in our gallery by Tuesday, September 30th. My page will go up Wednesday, October 1st, and I will pick the page that looks the most like mine to be the winner.

Here is one hint:

Question: Is it an 8.5×11 page or a 12×12 page?

Answer: It’s a 12×12 page

Now it’s your turn – after I’ve answered 10 Questions (that’s one per person) you can start scrapping. Just click on “Comments” and ask away.

You do not have to ask a question to participate in this challenge – just collect the hints, do your page and post it. It is not important to pick the same colors – it’s about the Design, but I do want to see some CatScrap product(s) used.

Ok, time to get started – ask away! :)

Breeoxd asked: Does your page have a solid or a print background?

My answer: Both, actually! One of each.

Lynn asked: One or multiple photos?

My answer: I used one photo – it’s horizontal.

Allison L. asked: Does your page have more of a “simple”, structured feel or a haphazard, freestyle feel?

My answer: I would say my page has a cleaner, more structured feel.

Dagmar asked: Where did you place your elements/photo?

My answer: Eehm… you trying to sneak in a two for one there, Dagmar? (where is that *mmhm* smilie when you need it?! :P ) Well, my photo is placed just about all the way over on the right side of the page, and a tiny, tiny bit below the middle horizontally. (ok, see further down for the element placements)

Danielle Cohen asked: Where is your lettering (title, journaling)?

My answer: My journaling is placed vertically, on the top left of the printed background I used. ;) I also wrote something on the top right of the frame. (see below for the title placement)

Alice asked: What is the theme of your LO?

My answer: Theme? Hmm… more of a dreamy/airy theme maybe.

Katrine asked: How many elements/swirls have you used?

My answer: I have used 9 elements: 1 frame, 2 stitchings, 1 string, 2 staples, 2 cloud elements and 1 alpha for the title.

-The frame is placed underneath the photo and is tilted slightly to right.
-The stitchings are placed next to eachother, vertically, on the right side of the page.
-The string is placed horizontally on the bottom of the photo and frame, and it continues off towards the bottom left side of the page.
-One staple is placed on the bottom of the frame, towards the right side.
-The second staple is placed on the left side of the photo, all the way down at the bottom.
-One cloud element is placed underneath the bottom of the frame. It extends below the frame, and down towards the bottom left side of the page.
-The second cloud element is placed underneath the top of the frame, and extends a little upwards.
-The alpha (title) is placed below and to the left of the photo, and it is “connected” to one of the other elements (does that make sense? :D ).

buzziebie asked: Have you used vivid or calm colours?

My answer: The colors I would say are calm.

Hanne asked: How have you placed your two backrounds?

My answer: The solid background is used as the base for the page. The printed background is sized to approximately 11x11in and is placed all the way over to the right side of the page, vertically centered.

Dagmar asked: What’s for dinner tonight? ;)

My answer: Well, I think that is a very valid question, Dagmar. LOL One shouldn’t scrap on an empty stomach! :P So, dinner tonight was Fajitas with lots and lots of jalapeños. Yum! (darn it, Dagmar, now you got me all hungry again :D )

That’s it then, now go scrap! :D Please remember to post your pages in our gallery by Tuesday, 30th. I’ll be posting my page Wednesday morning and pick the winner of the $10 GC to the Catscrap store.

Thank you for playing! :)

The right accent

While browsing our gallery I found this page by Therese.

I loved how she kept a neutral background and added just one color as an accent. I’ve asked the creative ladies from our team to do pages that do just that. And here is what they came up with.

Now it’s your turn – scrap a page using lots CatScrap products in neutral colors and use just one accent color. Please post your page here by Monday, 22nd of September and win a $10 gift certificate to the store.
